Weedsport Kartway 2021 Super kart Series Jr Blue Clone track Champion
Capital Area RC is a not-for-profit group of teachers, summer camp counselors, contractors, electricians, engineers, machinists, and local racers who want to help educate capital area children about the engineering, science and math of racing. This STEM initiative led by Scott Gray, Technology Teacher at Middleburgh Central School, and Instructor at SUNY Cobleskill, will operate during the months of Jan-April, with summer camp days during July and August.
We will offer fun and exciting car build and detail days for children ages 5-99 who are interested in racing and want to learn. During our STEM activity days, students will build their cars and have an opportunity to race them on our carpet racetrack at race meets around the Capital District.
WHEN: First meeting of 2020 is planned for the December - January holiday break (dates to be determined) We'll plan to meet twice a month from Jan-April, focusing on the school vacations, Tuesday nights and weekends. The opportunity to offer a one week summer camp at the college may also be an option, based on enrollment.
SUNY Cobleskill will be the base of our program, but we are working to get race meets at schools in the Capital Region. We need your support to make this happen.
There is a small membership donation we are collecting for everyone who participates. This will cover the cost of the track, race meets, and setup up of our not-for-profit and insurance.
2020 Founding Membership donations are as follows:
Adult membership (18+) donation $20
Child membership (under 18) donation $10
Family membership $35 (2 adults, 2 children)
Spontaneous donations and sponsors are also accepted
